Are you still keeping your old peso bills? Read this

Starting January 1, 2016, these old notes will no longer be accepted for payment. They can be used in buying goods or services for 2015, but come January 1, 2016, they will never be accepted anymore.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said they will start withdrawing these old notes from circulation starting January 1, 2015.

Old bank notes

With regard to your old bills, you can exchange it into newer bills in banks and BSP ( Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas) offices and branches.

If you are an overseas Filipino abroad and you still have your  old bank notes with you and it is quite difficult for you to exchange it in the prescribed period, you may register online starting October 1, 2015 until December 31, 2015 through the BSP website.

New Generation currency

If you fail to exchange your old bank notes, they will no longer be accepted for they have no monetary value anymore and are considered demonetized.
